Maybe if I stand still long enough,
He'll come and stand beside me,
Look at me with his eyes; I'm not sure what colour,
Not that it matters,
Blue, green, brown, it's all the same,
And when our eyes meet,
He'll smile, grin, or smirk,
But I'll just know, you know?

Perhaps if I stay absolutely quiet,
And keep my ears alert for any sound,
I'll hear his voice,
A voice like chocolate, honey, or poison,
The tone and accent does not matter,
Just as long as I hear his voice,
Because when he speaks to me, and he will speak to me,
I'll just know, you know?

Maybe if I lay down to sleep,
Then keep my eyes shut tight and dream,
He'll turn up and place a soft kiss on my lips,
Or perhaps a hard kiss, or a passionate kiss,
Then he'll wake me from my slumber,
And my dreams will all come true,
For when he kisses my lips,
I'll just know, you know?

Perhaps if I sit and read a fairytale,
And get lost in the magic land,
If I read enough happy endings,
Then mine might write itself,
I'll be the beautiful princess,
Waiting upon her handsome prince,
And when he takes my hand,
I'll just know, you know?

Maybe if I keep believing,
Or somehow continue dreaming,
He'll come and make my life complete,
When I meet him I may hate him,
But in time would grow to love him,
Perhaps when I'm least expecting it,
Will be the time when love walks in,
Either way, I'll just know, you know?
