One Friday night when Michael was born
His parents took off and left him with a scorn
He was only a baby so helpless and scared
Those parents of his were rude and did not care
Into that system for those not wanted
Until they get adopted they are taunted
Before turning one his parents took him back
Home he went to a room full of black
Growing up he went through a lot of pain
No one’s trust and love could he gain
The hitting and bruising his parents did give
He didn’t like this world and did not want to live
Kindergarten is when he found a friend
A girl so young who would never pretend
He loved her dearly and spent every second with
The trust and love that he thought was a myth
Teachers hated him for no reason
Always saying that all he did was treason
When he was six his sister came into his life
His parents hurt her with bitter strife
He tried to protect her with all his might
But that poor little baby couldn’t put up a fight
Into that horrible hospital did she go
It’s really sad when life so young can never grow
Jazmine Marie was that baby’s name
She was his world and he knows who to blame
He became depressed and didn’t know what to do
I was the only one there that tried to help him through
We went to school and always walked home together
I was hoping that we would be friends forever
He gave to me a humongous red teddy bear
He said keep this when you are sad or scared
Whenever you think of me look up to the stars
I will be there listening with the sound of your guitar
One day when walking home he looked at me with sadness
He told me he was sorry with his eyes full of redness
He walked out into the middle of the busy street
Just when a semi came by and sweeped him off his feet
I sat there on that curb what seemed like days
But was only minutes ‘til they took him away
To this day whenever April comes
I become sad and tears fall like the beat of drums
Every night I sit outside and stare up to the sky
And ask myself why God why?
I know that he is in a better place
And maybe that’s why God took him in with grace
