You are my medicine

I really need you in my life
Just like I need my medicine
When you aren't next me
I feel my strength growing thin

I feel like I am dying
And you are my prescription
With you gone my heart's grown cold
And you are my addiction

I can't imagine life without you
My body feels fragile and weak
Without having my medication
I'm unable to move or speak

Tears are welling up inside my eyes
There's a burning sensation in my throat
My life's a miserable fucking mess
And you're the perfect antidote

You cover up the hurt
And you take away the pain
You push away the bad things
Flush them down the drain

You wash away the tears
And every wish you save
You fill my every whim and need
Your medicine I crave

I've been missing you for way too long
I'm close to being hospitalized
But yet you don't even care
Or notice the pain in my eyes

My condition is life threatening
How would it feel to be a murderer
Refusing to feed me your medicine
And giving every bit of it to her

Well I've been to the damn doctor
And he said I wasn't even sick
I've taken all the fucking x-rays
Thinking man it'll show up quick

My health care provider
Told me I was losing my mind
The x-rays came back normal
Nothing did they find

Yet without you here with me
I've got this inner pain
Nobody sees what I'm going through
They say I am insane

But baby don't you see
You're my perfect insulin
I need you in my life
You are my medicine
